PLANNER STACK 2022 - A REVIEW
Taking a closer look into my planner system for 2022. What I'm using, how I'm using it. What's working and what's not.

Hobonichi Techo A6
My first year using Hobonichi (exciting, I know) went a little like this. Let's start with my main journal. This year I went with an A6 Hobonichi Techo - English. This is my daily mixed use journal. Here I will update various trackers, log my workouts as well as write a short entry a day. Or, thats the always goal at least. Most days the entries are a recap of my day. But sometimes they are positive affirmations, gratitude lists, to do lists for that day, a new recipe to try. There is no rhyme or reason to it, just whatever I feel inspired to update with at that particular time.

I decided to use the calendar overview pages as a mood tracker in 2022. I've received a lot of positive feedback on the way I set this page up this year. I went with the predominant mood of the day, or what I was feeling at the moment when I was updating the journal. I purchased these transparent dot stickers from @MandyLynnPlans on Etsy.

I use my yearly section as a tracker, like most. I'll track an array of things from workout days, sleep hours, journaling days etc. To be honest, this is usually the section that I drop off fairly early on in the year. If I successfully mark my items through to mid year - its been a successful year of tracking year! This year, I created a small key section, that I attached with some washi, to help me remember the things I was keeping an eye on when referencing them in the years to come.

I mainly use my monthly section to track my workouts. I'll quickly jot in what body part I focused on that day, how many calories burned according to my Apple Watch, and how many active days I've had thus far in the year. I also use the monthly pages to mark holidays and birthdays. Just a quick simple overview. I feel so accomplished when most of the boxes in the month are filled with workout notes.
The daily pages are where I journal daily, or so I try. I'm usually pretty good with daily updates through to the middle of the year. Around this time is when I usually start skipping days (sometimes entire weeks) at a time. When I first started consistently journaling in 2020, these lapses in time in time would really bother me. "Great I've ruined the journal now," I would think. But those feelings have since subsided significantly. I'm okay now with random gaps in time between journal updates. Some months are just more eventful than others, and thats okay!

Hobonichi 5 Year Techo
This is something completely new to my repertoire. This was gifted to me last Christmas and I was so excited to begin using it this year. My 5 Year Techo covers 2022 - 2026. I wanted to keep it clean and simple inside of the five year. Black ink, a quick date stamp and the occasional photo memory, is all that I intend on putting in this one. Since I have to make this one last for a much longer time than I am used to, I decided against bulking it up with stickers and washi. Wasn't sure how well I would keep up with this one. The idea of a 5 year commitment seemed intimidating. But I have surprised myself by having only missed 8 calendar days to date. This journal has quickly become my current favorite!

Hobonichi Day Free & Hobonichi Notebook
My Galen Leather A5 Zip Notebook Case is my everyday carry. Inside of it I have my Hobonichi Day Free and Hobonichi Notebooks, as well as all of my currently inked fountain pens. My Day Free is what I use primarily for work. Ill jot down important meetings notes, deadlines, project outlines, etc. The plain Hobonichi Notebook is my daily "catch all" go to! Anything and everything goes into this one. Budgeting, brainstorming, pen and marker testing, a quick note I need to jot down so I don't forget - you name it! It's all in there. Sometimes messy, sometimes neat. Just nib on paper. I use this until its completely filled, then swap it for a fresh one.

Will I Use Hobonichi Again?
You bet! I have definitely found some journaling peace within these planners. Next year will be my second year using all of them. Hobonichi 1101, and Jetpens (as an ordering alternative), have already started sales for next year. I have already placed and received my order for next year. Although I do plan on switching from the A6 Techo to the Weeks for my journaling in 2023. Can't wait to start setting things up in the new planner!
